"This festival is organized to encourage students in managing various aspects like production, publicity and budgeting and make them flexible keeping in mind the uncertain future," said Uday Naseri, the college bakery chef.
The students have created an ambience keeping in mind Christmas and have chosen the theme as 'red and white'. Mouth-watering delicacies like brownies, black-forest cakes, rum balls, chocolate pastries and also garlic loafs, banana breads, pies and pizzas have been prepared by the students.
"The pre-preparation efforts and hard work is paying off, people appreciating the food you have cooked and taking some back home gives you an amazing feeling," said Insia Kapadia, a student.
The festival is following a hotel's hierarchy by having the students take up posts like the general manager, sales and marketing manager, publicity manager, production in charge and housekeeping in charge.
Other students like Smita Kalkar and Shivangi Tijare also informed that they start from scratch. It takes up enormous amount of efforts and brainstorming sessions to make an appropriate budget, divide the works, produce the bakery items, come up with a theme, take care of the decor and publicize the results.
"The girls have taken a lot of pain in organizing this fest. Though it's conducted by the third year students, all the other students from different years put in efforts and work hard. We are proud of the splendid work put up by the students," said Amita Jharia, a teacher.
